Kat works like crazy. She writes for Jezebel, does weekends at Jalopnik, and is a full time teacher... in Japan. Her schedule is nuts. Kat isn't going anywhere, but for her own sanity we're looking at a way to not have her work until 5AM her time and have her continue to contribute.
So Nicole is one possible new addition to the staff, we'll have a different person (who may or may not be familiar to you) writing the site tomorrow.

Ok, serious thought here. Are you sitting down? You should sit down.
There's no real up to the minute news on the weekend that isn't race related, and Stef usually has that stuff covered.
So you should source put some real effort into sourcing material from sub logs. As it is, the weekend is always full of truckyeah, FTA and oppo posts, the last of which is somewhat random, and typically lower quality. It's just made with the other opponauts in mind, so it's usually more off the cuff.
If you actually told everyone you were serious about reviewing specifically tagged fringe content (not the pro-level stuff like TY and FTA) on Friday, and you're going to put up at least X articles from the fringe sources over the weekend, I think you could get additional quality (free) content.
I know it's always been tough having someone man the guns over the weekend (do you remember cross-gawker guest editors? BEST IDEA EVAR). This could make it a smaller task.
Just sayin'.

Thanks, but that still requires having someone in front of a computer and working/reading all of these things. Remember Next Top Car Blogger? I wasn't an editor then (I was actually an entrant), but I've been told it took hours and hours of work to get it done, more than a normal weekend.
That said, we have some ideas for weekends to switch it up.
